So excited to see a bakery, so I stopped in on a Friday afternoon after 4. I purchased the Shepards pie and a chocolate cupcake with rainbow frosting. Shepards pie : 15/10 (it was a little cold in some spots) you can get any pie warmed or as is. Chocolate cupcake: 5/10 it was dry :( great design my daughter didn’t like it as much. They had cookies, brownies, sweet pies and teas as well. Great place overall atmosphere 10/10 I guess it was late, the guy was just blah lol. Will come back! Already told everyone about the savory pies!
What a nice surprise, Betty Bakery in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn. I got myself a coffee and followed AJ's advice and got the steak and cheese pie for dinner and a slice of carrot cake for dessert and let me tell you, both made my taste buds extremely happy! If my schedule allows it, I will definitely be back, so many more goodies I want to try. In short, good service, nice coffee and most importantly amazing food.
Stumbled upon this bakery walking home and it did not disappoint at all!!! Got the Thai chicken meat pie. Thought I would need hot sauce or something, but it did not need a thing– DELICIOUS!!! Can’t wait to try my cupcake when I get home :) AJ was also great!!! Had a bunch of questions about the bakery and he was great to talk to and super kind. Highly recommend!!
I tried the Chicken Curry pie, it is spicy but I loved it. Balanced spices, great portion The chocolate cake they have is amazing. Just the perfect soft texture, frosting is not so sweet yet super balanced and not over frosted. Cold brew coffee was good too Not to mention Jade is a lovely young lady that was so hospitable and kind Warm your pie and have it right away They even make to order cakes for events Highly recommend
Visited NYC for a few days and decided to stop at a local spot to try out a slice of cake. So glad I chose Betty's! Not only was AJ incredibly helpful and funny, but he also recommended the carrot cake and it was honestly the BEST slice of carrot cake I've ever had. My time at Betty's was one of the highlights of my trip. I'll definitely be back again the next time I visit!
While visiting New York with a friend, we stopped at Betty Bakery. Prior to ordering, I reviewed the posted menu sign, which did not indicate any additional charge for oat milk. I ordered three hot chocolates with oat milk. When I was charged, the cashier attempted to add an additional $1 per drink for the oat milk, bringing the total to approximately $22. This surcharge was not communicated at the time of ordering and was not reflected on the posted pricing. Upon noticing the discrepancy, I politely requested that the displayed price be honored. In response, the cashier became unprofessional, making remarks about recent price changes, the cost of chocolate, and stating that I had “messed it up” for other customers. This interaction was unnecessary and inappropriate, as my request was simply to be charged the advertised price. Although the owner ultimately issued a refund, the resistance and commentary from both the cashier and the owner were unwarranted and detracted from the experience. I believe this situation could have been handled more professionally and with clearer communication regarding pricing.
Wow! On a random solo adventure, I stumbled across this bakery and I love chocolate cake so I was hoping that I can get a slice before i went home. A little after being home I completely forgot I bought a sweet treat! I was pleasantly surprised with how rich and moist this Valrhona chocolate cake was. It was so good currently wishing I could’ve bought an entire Cake. 🤣🤣🤣🩵🩵🩵 definitely the kind of cake that makes you want a glass of milk🤭😆
If there's one thing we can admire the British for it's their sheer commitment to wrapping things in pastry and calling it a meal. I'm not sure if Betty Bakery is British but they were selling jars of Marmite so seems pretty masochistic if not. They had a bunch of savory pie options and I opted for the cumin lamb for $10.50, for the person that has everything but still just wants Chinese food. They'll heat up the pie for you which I keep telling myself is how I deserve to be treated.
I wanted something sweet but never been so I asked the guy at the counter whats his favorite and he didnt hesitate and said carrot cake. I got it and boy was AJ right! Carrot cake is banging man! Great recommendation it hit the spot for sure
Such a cute bakery ! Loved the carrot 🥕 cupcake 🧁 & the slice of lemon Bundt cake. beautifully decorated & sooo many options of delicious cookies, cheesecake, etc. I wanted to get all of it ! Iced caramel latte was a 10/10 which as a coffee enthusiast I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised because in my YEARS of trying coffee shops I was not expecting it. I’m not sure if dogs are normally allowed - (Brooklyn usually is pet friendly) mine goes everywhere with me so she loved the place too. CANT WAIT TO GO BACK (1 hour drive from me but will be worth the trip)
